Audrey Augusta Ruth Thielen (nee Grugel), age 87 of Lansing, IL, passed away at her home on Thursday, February 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her children: Cynthia (Alexander) Feher, Pamela (Michael) Abramovich, Karen (Robert) Larson, Richard (Wendy) Thielen, Jr., David (Heather) Thielen, and Trudee (Ryan) Wieting. She is also survived by her Grandchildren: Heather (Benjamin) Laurienti and Hillary Feher, Bethanne (Matthew) Smith and Jonathan Abramovich, Casandra (Baldur Blondal) Thielen, Mitchell Thielen, Joseph Thielen, Mia Robinson, and Aiden Robinson, Aubrey Wieting and William Wieting. Also surviving are her Great Grandchildren: Evelyn and Alexandra Laurienti, Loa and Thorfinnur Blondal; her brother Henry (Carol) Grugel and sister, Arlene (late Jack) Fenn.

Audrey was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard J. Thielen Sr., and infant son, Edward. Also preceded in death by her parents: Henry and Gertrude (nee Walters) Grugel.

Audrey enjoyed volunteering with the Girl Scouts and she worked in the T.F. South cafeteria for 26 years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and loved rooting for the Chicago Bears. She was also an avid fan of Downton Abbey.

Friends are invited to visit with Audrey's family on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 8:00 – 11:00 AM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Audrey will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in Assumption Cemetery in Glenwood, IL.
