Olga Gonzalez, age 92, of Lansing, IL, passed away peacefully in her home in Lansing, Illinois, on September 4, 2024. She was a loving daughter to, and predeceased by her parents, Francisco Velasquez and Angeline Velasquez (nee, Ochoa); loving sister to, and predeceased
by siblings, Sally Salgado, David Velasquez, and Frank Velasquez. Olga was loving mother to son, Richard R. Gonzalez, Jr., and to her daughter, Marlene F. Gonzalez, who predeceased her; and loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews. But most of all, she was a well-loved "Abuelita"
("Uela") to Nathan R. Gonzalez (Lisa Gonzalez, nee Dykstra), Marlene E. Gonzalez (Adam Butt), and Levi D. Gonzalez; and Great Grandma ("Uela") to Henry B. Gonzalez, Lily E. Gonzalez, and Ivy J. Gonzalez. She was sincerely loved by many other friends, acquaintances, and extended family members.

Olga loved to laugh. She grew up in East Chicago, Indiana, enjoyed taking trips all over the world and the U.S.A. with friends or family. Many great memories were made. She loved knitting and crocheting, playing cards, working puzzles, and being with her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking for her family. Olga was an excellent cook and owned restaurants in East Chicago, Indiana, and Lansing, Illinois, during her lifetime.

A visitation will be held for Olga from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM with services immediatly following on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Kidney Foundation. www.schroederlauer.com
