Cornelia “Corky” Zwier (nee Schaap), age 88 of Lansing, IL, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 8, 2012. She is survived by her loving husband, Stanley, to whom she had been married for 61 years; four children: Randall (Pamela) Zwier, Diane (Thomas) Vander Weele, Rodney (Susan) Zwier, and infant son, the late Peter Zwier; five grandchildren: Michael Vander Weele, Danielle (Brian) Voss, Dustin (Fiancée Kelli Klamer) Zwier, Jeffrey (Cassie) Zwier, and Megan Zwier; and great grandchild, Leah Voss. Corky was the dear sister of: Lena (late Julius) Jacobs, Johanna Schaap, John (Betty) Schaap, late Garrit (Ida) Schaap, late Adriana (late Bert) Voss, late Henry (late Johanna) Schaap, late Jacob (late Marie) Schaap, late Jacoba (late Adrian) Lenting, late Art (late Janet) Schaap, and late Bertha (late Kenneth) Anema.

Funeral services for Corky will be held on Friday, July 13 at 11:00 AM at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 3500 Glenwood-Lansing Rd., Lansing. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, July 12 from 3 – 8 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ugandan Orphanage Relief Fund.

Corky was a charter member of Bethel CRC; she worked for Kikkert Bus Lines for 38 years; she sang in the Apollo Chorus in Chicago for 30 years; and she loved to sew, crochet and do other hand work.
